New kind of beetle found! By CBC staff! Staff on the state-owned CBC Newsworld, where, suspiciously like Fox News Channel’s O’Reilly Factor, “The Spin Stops Here”! (-- or is that just on their “Politics” program?) apparently discovered the new creature. They called it the “GREENHOUSE BEETLE”. 1,000 residents evacuated from Sierra Madre fire area The wildfire that broke out Saturday off Santa Anita Canyon Road near the Chantry Flat area in the San Gabriels has burned more than 400 acres and is about 20% contained, but is expected to burn for days in steep terrain. Winds pushed the flames near homes this morning, but no structures have been damaged. Sierra Madre schools are closed today.
